Flyover Territory

Test blog. Like flyover territory itself, you're probably ignoring it anyway.

Flyover Country is mentioned in a weekend post at Ben Jones' Housing Bubble Blog. That's where I tend to see the flyover term show up most often. And as usual, at least one coastal showed his ignorance and said that RE in the center of the country has gotten too expensive. While it has gone up in price, and the new builds are priced like new cars, good housing is still relatively cheap here. No point in beating that dead horse; some will never 'get' flyover territory.

Another coastal who doesn't get it is the head cheese of SustainLane.com (I'm not linking to it, look it up yourself). His blog, and the content of the website, reflect strong bias against anyplace not on the West Coast, or places which don't have a shitload of buses (and strangely, a bias toward the largest American cities... yeah NYC was real sustainable when the power went out two years ago; heaven help Las Vegas or any hot western city if that ever happens). Silly stuff, this sustainability 'study', but it received a lot of press in the past couple of weeks.
